Elprom Harmanli JSCo is a leading Bulgarian manufacturer of asynchronous electric motors that has been operating in the country and elsewhere since the 1970s. After more than 30 years of experience in designing, producing and selling different electric motors and spare parts for motors, the company has decided to specialize in three-phase and single-phase induction electric motors from 0,12 kW up to 30,00 kW, produced in compliance with IEC 60034-1. In addition to the standard motors offered by the company, more and more special motors are being produced every day in Elprom’s factories. The Bulgarian manufacturer produces motors with brakes, motors for hydraulic stations, electric motors with hollow shafts, conical rotors, electrc motors for pumps, AC motors for lifting mechanisms and many other types!

The company’s engineers and designers are continuously being challenged to design and produce special electric motors that are exclusively tailored to the specificities of the machines for which they are intended. History

Elprom Harmanli was established back in 1976 as a daughter company of the state-owned enterprise Elprom. As most state-owned enterprises, Elprom Harmanli was not very efficient and during the first years of its existence. Despite the huge production halls, warehouses and supplementary units, built on total space of 15 000 square meters, the factory used to manufacture only minor quantities of motors per year. Furthermore, most of the company’s production was focused on manufacturing spare parts for electric motors and several standard types of motor. The export quantities were also minor and were mainly directed towards the ex-Soviet Union and some Arab countries.

Following years of political changes in the country, the company was successfully privatized in 1997. Since then, Elprom Harmanli has been continuously developing in terms of new business models, up-to date machinery, high-level specialists, and customer satisfaction. The company has penetrated new markets and has successfully established presence in more than 35 countries all over the world. In 1998, Elprom was awarded ISO 9001 certificate by SGS Company.

In 2003, in order to account for the growing demand of electric motors, Elprom Harmanli established a branch in the second biggest city in Bulgaria, Plovdiv. Production halls in Plovdiv cover about 4000 square meters and are equipped with up-to-date machining centers from the well know company MAZAK. CAD/CAM system has been used since recently. In addition to the branch in Plovdiv, Elprom Harmanli has an affiliated company located in another Bulgarian town, Troyan, which specializes in the production of motors with brakes.

The last industry figures indicate that Elprom Harmanli meets about 60% of the domestic demand for three-phase and single-phase asynchronous electric motors.  However, the majority of the company’s production is being exported to many European, Middle East and African countries, as well as to North America. Some leading European companies have already chosen Elprom Harmanli JSCo as their main motor supplier for a vast array of machines such as wood processing machines including circular saws, metal processing machines, mechanisms for garage equipment, floor polishing machines, hydraulic stations, fans, pumps, concrete mixers, electric hoists, and many other mechanisms that require electric induction motors.

GENERAL FACTS AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Elprom Harmanli is the Bulgarian market leader in the production of asynchronous electric motors - AC motors.

Elprom Harmanli manufactures single-phase and three-phase asynchronous electric motors ranging from 0.12 kW up to 30 kW with 2, 4, 6 or 8 poles. More poles are possible on clients’ requests. The company offers motors with sizes starting from 63 up to180 produced in aluminum or cast iron. The construction forms are numerous and the most widely manufactured ones are B3, B5, B14, B35, and IM 1002.  The monophase motors can be produced with starting, running or both with starting and running capacitors. The company can manufacture motors with special execution such as motors intended for work in tropical conditions, motors with thermal protection, motors with left or right lateral terminal box, motors with different degrees of protection: IP 55, IP 54 or higher, motors with different duty cycles: S1, S2, S3, and S6, motors with cable glands, and motors with other specific technical dimensions.
