The Company
MORATTO s.r.l. founded in 1978 as Elettromeccanica Moratto, specialized in winding and repairing of electrical equipment. In 1993, thanks to the experience gained during working with some of the leading European manufacturers, MORATTO srl started the production of single and three phase asynchronous electric motors under the brand Elmor.
The actual business of MORATTO is the design and manufacture of special electric motors. The technical and commercial staff of the company supports the customer in the study and design of customerized solutions: the complete project is managed internally, also with the creation of non-standard shaft (including steel, toothed, …) , flange design in cast iron or aluminum and other mechanical or electrical specifications.
Modern 3D software allows a quick analysis and validation of projects, in addition to an easy exchange of information with the customer.
The test room was completely renovated in 2010, for adaption to the new regulations on the efficiency of motors, and for the implementation of new software and hardware for non-standard cycles tests.
Therefore, all the motors are developed and tested according to the standard tests or agreed upon with the customer.
The motors are finally realized in the new warehouse in Breda Pero (TV), where there are concentrated the controls of raw materials, the electro-machining, the assembling and final testing.
The current production includes motors according to IEC 34.1, from size to Mec56 Mec180, single phase, three phase and pole-changing. All motors are also available in brake and / or forced ventilation configurations. For some sizes, there is also a version with on-board inverter IP55.
Our Technical Department and Commercial Department are at your disposal for any questions.
IEC180 MOTORS
On Mec180 basis construction, MORATTO is able to develop motors single speed (2, 4, 6, 8-poles) with power up to 30KW-S1 or two speed motors (4/12, 2/8, …). As all the other ELMOR motors, is available a brake version in addition to all the customizations provided for other sizes (encoder, power cooling, …). These motors are especially designed for lifting ad crane applications.. The sizes and Mec180 Mec200 use the same aluminum casing, with feet of differentsizes listed.
The front flange and the rear shield (brake version) are made in cast-iron.
STANDARD MOTORS
Electric motors manufactured by Moratto srl, under the brand name ELMOR, conform the international standards of the IEC and the corresponding national versions.
Each motor is provided of the CE mark, in order to guarantee the safety of the final users.
FRAMES
The frames of our motors are die-cast aluminium alloy. The feet are integrated into the frames. Up to dimension Mec 100 they are assembled with tie-rods. From frame sizes 112, 132, 160 and 180 the housings are secured with screws.
FLANGES AND SHIELDS
Flanges and shields are in die-cast aluminium alloy arranged to accept oil-seals or V-seals.
On brake motors, the rear shields are made of die-cast aluminium alloy.
Upon request, we can provide flanges and shields according to the customer’s design.
BEARINGS
Bearings are manufactured by the best European firms. They are radial single-row ball bearings. The standard type (2Z) includes 2 seals for each bearing with pre-lubrification provided by the supplier. All bearings are axially pre-loaded through steel tempered compensation rings.
COOLING
Cooling is obtained by means of a two-way plastic fan with radial blades. Upon request, the fan can be supplied in die-cast aluminium alloy. The fan-cover is made of pressed steel.
ROTOR
Rotors are squirrel cage in die-cast aluminium alloy and dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 Part 1, grade G6,3.
Shafts are in C40 steel. We specialise in providing, upon request, motors with special shaft dimensions, double ended, or in INOX steel.
INSULATION
The windings of the stators are made with enamelled copper wire (insulation class “H” – 200°C) with modified polyester resins and polyamide resin coating.
The impregnation treatment , that is carried out during the manufacture, uses class “F” resin and provides high protection against electrical and mechanical stresses. As a result the winding is solid, without air pockets and with high heat transfer efficiency. The other materials used for standard production of our windings, are class “F” insulation but, upon request, we can provide windings insulated class “H” only .
VOLTAGE – FREQUENCY
In order to perform correctly, the voltage should not vary over a 5% from the rated value. When the motor is running respecting the above margin, the over temperature can increase other 10° C. Normal windings are suitable for voltages of 230 and 400 V and frequency of 50 Hz. Upon request, we can also provide motors with different voltage and frequency.
OPERATING CONDITIONS
The indicated power values, are foreseen for motors normally running in a ambient where altitude is below 1000 m a.s.l., and temperature below 40° C, with a constant supply frequency of 50 Hz.
In different working conditions, the specifications vary according to the coefficients shown in the following graph.
STAINLESS STEEL MOTORS
In addition to our range we have the “stainless steel motors”, with stainless steel housing, shield, flange, screws and nickel-plated brass cable gland.
These motors are used in the food industry and in corrosive environments.
These motors are normally supplied with integrated cable and no fan, the rest is all customizable, according to customer’s requirements.
The motor can be made with a degree of protection up to IP69K, or with additional seals between the housing and the flange or between the housing and the shield.
The winding can be encapsulated in resin or tropicalized, with thermal protection and / or heaters.
The nameplate data are engraved on the shield by serigraphy, together with customer’s logo, if required.
The contacts of the cable, its length, the material and the number of contcts are other possible customizations.
From a mechanical point of view you can require standard or special shaft ends, and the same situation regarding the flange.
Finally there is the possibility of having the front bearing blocked.
BRAKE MOTORS
All ELMOR motors, both three-phase and single-phase, are available with brake. These motors, on the non-drive end, are equipped with a electro-magnetic spring-pressure brake with negative action. In absence of power supply, the brake stops the motor instantly (see tables).
The brake is attached to the motor through a cast-iron rear cover. The shafts of these motors are made by a special steel.
Direct current Brake “DC”
The direct current brakes are powered through a rectifier, usually connected to the motor terminal board .
We use an high-speed rectifier.
Alternating current Brake “AC”
The alternating current brakes are usually powered through the motor terminal board.
Upon request, we can provide additional terminal board.
Brake motors Serie S
The brakes Series S feature a reduced braking torque, and are particularly used in applications that do not need a quick braking, such as woodworking machines.
They feature a cast iron fan (balanced), which acts as a brake: the fan also perform the function of flywheel
This Dc Brakes can be powered directly by the motor through the rectifier.
These motors are compact and cheaper compared with traditional brake
SERVOFAN MOTORS
Increased cooling is obtained with an additional fan mounted on the rear of the electric motor, into the fan cover.
The usage of this accessory is recommended in the following case:
Applications with rated torque below motor speed at 50Hz;
Motors with low speed (6 – 8 poles);
Motor fed through inverter;
Motor under high stresses.
The additional fan is available with single-phase or three-phase motor, direcly powered through the motor terminal board , or through an additional and separate one on fan cover.
MOTORS WITH INVERTER
